About the Project

The main aim of the Baltic Light Chain project is to:

  • create a long term network of light festivals of Baltic States (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland)
  • increase the quality level of the festivals
  • provide mobility and international career opportunities for artists
  • increase awareness of light festivals

The project comprises 11 light objects developed during the Baltic Light Chain Summer School (July, 2015) by artists from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, which will be displayed in the following light festivals

  • 18.-27 September Tallinna Valgusfestival (Tallinn, Estonia)
  • 10.October Beepositive (Vilnius, Lithuania)
  • 18.-21.November Staro Rīga (Rīga, Latvia)
  • 20.-21.November NARRACJE (Gdansk, Poland)

Summer School

Baltic Light Chain Summer School took place 20 – 25 July, 2015 in Liepāja and Riga (Latvia), where 18 students and young artists from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Poland took part.
During the Summer School more than 20 ideas for light object were generated, 11 of which were chosen for further development by an international jury. The chosen objects will be realized this year and exhibited in four Baltic light festivals:
